Winter hikes around Hafling and Meran 2000

The hiking area around the resort Hafling and Meran 2000 is proving to be a winter hiker's paradise. Surrounded by the unique mountains of South Tyrol, nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts will find numerous, well-marked trails.

Short winter walk

The ski bus takes you from the Hotel Sulfner to Falzeben. A gentle walk along path no. 14 is followed by the Bürgeleweg path (or path no. 15) to Hotel Sulfner and St. Kathrein.

To the Leadner Alm hut

From the car park in Hafling village, take path no. 16 to the Leadner Alm hut or the Waldbichl mountain inn.
Duration 1¼ hour

OR

From Vöran (Grüner Baum car park) you can take path no. 16 to the Leadner Alm hut or the Waldbichl mountain inn.
Duration 1 hour

To Meran 2000

From Falzeben walk or take the cabin lift up to the Piffinger Köpfl – from here, even in winter, there are numerous paths to the Meraner hut (crossing the ski piste).
Duration 3½ hours

OR

The Meraner hut comes into sight when you take the chairlift from Piffing to the Waidmann Alm – then it is a pleasant walk back to Piffing or directly to your starting point at Falzeben.
